I've been very very lucky this year. This is my second international trip, and this, like the earlier one is also purely for fun. I think I've begun to take advantages of the fact that I'm not tied down to an office and a boss and have to keep placing in requests for leaves and day offs. With my previous job, I even managed to miss a school reunion, which took place on a Sunday! Because the life of a stylist usually has no holidays. But now that I'm my own boss, it's been very rewarding. Currently, I'm enjoying 2 weeks in Dubai, with my family. What's special about this trip, is that my dad came along as well. So it's a father-daughters kind of thing with Sheehan, him and myself. We decided to go to a nice place for drinks. Of course I once again wanted to go to the top of the Burj, but with the bad visibility, I cancelled again, because I'm too particular about the kind of images I would get from there. So The Vault was close enough. In fact, we had a view of the Burj, so that seemed pretty cool as well.
The Vault is a pretty neat place, that literally has an entrance like a vault and is placed on the 71st and 72nd floor of the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel. So with exquisite views and a lovely menu, we decided to pay a visit for their sundowner. Also, as luck would have had it, the prices are marked down to half during that time. So you get a fabulous setting sun and amazing views as well as discounted food. Since my dad is quite the wine expert, he picked an Argentinian wine for us, Malbec by Norton. If you ever find yourself in Dubai, this is one place that you should add to your "to visit" list!
