Last minute outfits for New Year's!

I can't hardly get over the fact that Christmas is over already. Somebody pinch me.. But now it's time to gear up for New Year's! And of course the usual 'What do I wear' dilemma haunts us all.. Everyone wants to end the current year looking their best and start a new one as glam as ever.. Isn't it?

I'm sure, most of you have already have already picked your outfits for NYE. But for a few lazy ones or maybe I should say very busy ones and some others who just love cutting it close, here is a little helpful guide on what you can wear to end this year with a bang!

My top 5 picks for New Year's would be..

A classic LBD

You can never go wrong with a simple black dress. Just pick good accessories to go with it. Use printed bags or shoes, bright colors especially on your lips or metallic accents in your jewelry.

Animal Prints

Animal Prints
Well none of my lists can ever be complete without animal prints. I freak out over them. Trashy when not worn right, but you can't deny a sexy animal printed dress.

Sweater dresses

Sweater Dresses
Well you know, it's officially winter, and can get a bit chilly, and these sweater dresses are just so cute.

Lace dresses

Lace Dresses
Lace dresses have been the trend du jour for a while now. Nothing looks as demure and sexy as a lace dress  with a low back. Pick the right accessories and you're good to go.

Sequined dresses

Sequined dresses
Nothing says shine on New Year's like a sequined dress. Go for classic gold/silver, or even a black, but if you are bolder, try different colours.

If you noticed, I've used red accents, in the form of lip wear and accessories in each and every look of mine. Maybe that's because I'm still in The Christmas spirit.

Anyways, have a great time, stay safe, and see you next year!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope each and every one of you has a great and enjoyable one!

My Christmas ritual has pretty much been the same. It's midnight mass with the family (I'm a Catholic, if you didn't already know) and then after that family and friends always come over to eat sandwiches (another ritual thing) and drink wine or whatever they fancy.

Usually my sister and myself always have other plans, and we do sit at home for a while but by 1am, we go to one of our own friends house for what we call a nice quiet house party.. sshh!
But this time, we stayed at home. And post 5am, the shenanigans began..

I sometimes love laying my clothes out like this.. Who else does this?

Outfit details.. Mixes of navy, pink and blue.

Yes I know my accessories match her really well!

Family picture..

And then we changed into our pajamas. I have gingerbread men all over with 'Bite me' and 'Oh snap' all over! I just love street shopping. You never know what you will find!

I'm an Instagram addict. There I said it. I have over 700 pictures.

With my love Puchu (left) and (right) new kitten in the neighborhood!

This was after everyone went off to sleep. Dad, Sheehan, Patrick and myself had a blast!

Okay these last two were completely my dad's idea. He asked me to climb up and pose!

A few gifts from my aunts!

What did you get for Christmas?

Life is a blur...

There's this girl whose heart hurts inside. She aches in pain and sadness that overwhelms her. She knows her life is a total blur. There's this girl who really cries out wondering where she'll end up. But I try to cover her up with a good look and smile. But we all know who I really am... We all know I'm really her.

A little OTT doesn't kill does it? Sometimes it's fun to over-do it.

A Sparkling Diwali + Outfit post

Happy Belated Diwali!!

Diwali was pretty boring for me actually. I got bored during the days. Of course I was invited to a number to 'pujas' by friends and even my boss, but it really was not something I looked forward to! The evenings were still better. I did manage to visit a few of my friends and wish them (also eat some sweets)..

The thing is, when I'm bored, I get the best ideas in my head, which really is a good thing, because I'm generally always bored. I'm sure you understand the feeling of not having anything to do. It's just so annoying!

So I had the coolest idea ever..

This is what I came up with!

I wanted to make an epic cover picture for Facebook..
My actual idea was to make the three of us in a line, and we each would spell out our names.. Like I would spell 'Rox', Sheehan would do 'Skez' and Patrick would do 'Pat'.. But we needed a fourth person to click the picture. And somehow the names just didn't happen.. But we still got some awesome stuff..

Brain-dead at Tiffany's

Back again with some fun outfits.. Remember the Comic Con post a while ago? We played dress up again, this time for Halloween!!

I've always been really into Halloween. Even before the Halloween scene entered India, I guess because we all grew up watching Hollywood movies and wished that we could dress up too, and go trick or treating!
So my sister and myself have been planning small Halloween parties always, for friends and family (very low key)

So here is what we wore..

So I was a zombie version of Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's, however that night I kept calling myself  'Brain-dead at Tiffany's' which seemed pretty apt..

The A-Zs of Fall 2012-2013

iVillage has a really awesome A-Z version (which I totally agree with) for this fall, and with my acute boredom, and slow days at work, I decided to make polyvore sets for each letters and theme..
I'm really that bored!

Animal Magnetism
Not animal prints (for the first time) but actually animals charms, which have been seen a lot on runways and high street stores.. Don't shy away from adding a cute animal metal brooch to your sweater or cardigan.

DIY tip! - Take inspiration from one of my favorite DIY-er. Make your own insect brooch.. Here's how!

Mumbai's Comic Con!

Last weekend was one of the best ever. Mumbai had a Film and Comics convention. There were a lot of wackily dressed up people, having fun, taking pictures and to top it off, there was a Cosplay contest too!

Sheehan, Patrick and myself decided to go too.. I mean how could we miss this? They went both days, but I went only on day 2 - Sunday, as I was working the previous day..

So here's what we went as..

Sheehan was the Joker from The Dark Knight
Patrick was the robot from the LMFAO videos
I was cat-woman from.. I haven't really decided where.. But definitely not The Dark Knight Rises (cuz I felt she was lame)

Here are some pictures!

Just monkeying around..

In August, I went on a photo shoot rampage.. Sheehan and me worked up a schedule where we did 3-4 outfit posts in a single day. This happened on one Saturday and Sunday when I was free. Maybe it was intuition that told me I was going to be really very busy soon after... And that's what happened! Even the earlier outfit pictures were done on these same days. Including the previous 'rainy day' DIY..

I guess when you have an unpredictable job as mine, which takes you places, and you also want to blog as often as once in 2 weeks, you really have to be prepared!
This would be my advice to fellow bloggers!

I love how I look so tall here, and my legs look endlessly long.. I'm gonna wear this dress a lot often!

You might have wondered about the 'monkey' reference in the title.. Well here it is..

What and why are questions I still ask myself. I don't remember why I made monkey gestures and actions. It was related to something Patrick said, while he was watching Sheehan photograph me. None of us can remember the comment!!

And then Sheehan suggests I swing from the little tree branch, I said 'you first' and she went first!
And then it was my turn..

Believe me, this was a lot more fun, than it actually looks!

I'm never throwing these shoes away. As beat and used as they are, and I got them in 2010, they are more of a sentimental value now. I might not really wear them anymore, but they belong in a special place. They've visited the cobblers a number of times and also have fine stitch lines inside and out!
